Online marketing and social media tips for business from Shannon Belew, best-selling author of "Starting an Online Business For Dummies, All-in-One"
Remember that guy with the incredible singing voice (Ted Williams) who was plucked straight off the streets and then skyrocketed to 15 minutes of fame? He’s back. And, he’s ready to belt out your tweets of love in a special “Golden Voice of Love” campaign, sponsored by Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Starting February 12, you can use Twitter to tweet sweet nothings to your significant other (or anyone else to whom you want to publicly express your most innermost feelings).
Kraft will select some lucky tweeters from all the messages sent between Feb. 12-14, that use the hashtag #VoiceOfLove and Ted will record a special video that shows him reading your sweet tweet in his silky, soulful voice. Don’t worry, if your tweet is chosen, you’ll know it because @kraftmacncheese will tweet you a message with a link to the video. In the true spirit of love and caring, each #VoiceOfLove Tweet also spurs a 100-box Mac ‘n Cheese contribution to Feeding America. Not a bad way to spread the love – and a bit of food to those who need it most.
Oh, if you don’t have your tweet chosen to come alive in a video, you can hop right over to Kraft’s Facebook page and grab a special virtual Mac ‘n Cheese Valentine, called Valenshares, to send to that special someone (probably it should be someone under the age of 12, otherwise you may be spending this Day of Hearts all alone). It’s safe to say that Kraft is lov’n them some social media these days.
In case you’re not moved to show your love via Twitter and Kraft’s “golden” boy, at least use this as inspiration for your own social media campaign. Really, how many people think Mac ‘n Cheese when deciding on a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner? Yet, on this day of love, Cupid has struck and Kraft will be on the mind of many consumers, thanks to this Kraft-y campaign. Be inspired.
